Goodbyes not always need words

Goodbyes are the hurried kisses

As you rush to work

Goodbyes are the list of errands you give

As you scurry off with half your heart

Goodbyes are the shuffle on the hair

As you step out hush-hush

Goodbyes are the meals left on the table

With generous dollops of love

Goodbyes are the hands that hold you

A bit more time than usual

Goodbyes are the gazes

That lingers even after you are out of sight

Goodbyes are the teardrops

That escapes quietly as you turn away

Goodbyes are the forced smiles

That makes you the finest actor

The hardest goodbyes are ones

You lock up in your heart

Wishing and praying hard

That it doesn’t escape through your eyes!
