I try better now, I try to be better now
I fight with my broiling tears that pour out like a shower of molten lava
And warn them to stay inside and never even dare to trickle out
I fight with my heart that drags and stumbles down with the onerous weights of pangs
And order it to carry the burdens of brokenness alone in solitude adorning the masks of cheer
I fight with my wounded soul
And hush its screams of plight by gagging its mouth shut.
I fight with my burning wounds
And command it to cover up the agonizing pains with pretty bandages that camouflages the dripping red.
I try better now, I try to be better now
For love is to be earned with investments in stinging pains and laughing masks
