As the river ebbed and flowed
Giggling gleefully and chattering playfully
It stopped and stared wide-eyed
When it flowed and reached the ocean
She reminiscent the paths she travelled
Right from the towering peaks of the mountains
Through the wilderness and the villages
playing hide-and-seek with the rocks and boulders
And, now in front of her is the vast, vast ocean
It seems endless, it seems monstrous
It looks intimidating, it looks menacing
It seems she will have to disappear forever
Deep and down, writhing fearfully
in the clutches of the dreadful ocean
But, there is no other way than to face it
She can never turn back and flow back
She can only flow forward and not backward
The river has to take that risk and enter the ocean
Because then only her fear will disappear
Because then only her insecurities will dissipate
And, that is when she will know
It’s not about disappearing into the ocean
It’s all about being and becoming the ocean
