There are so many mornings she struggles to drag herself up from her bed
She curls up and hides her face inside a blanket
To hide those tears that poured down for reasons she never knew
She then flips the blanket with the brightest smile
And rushes around finishing her chores
But every now and then she pauses a bit
To brush away the tears that rushed in unannounced
To rush away behind her tiny tots who brushed their teeth with a naughty grin

There are many days she stood under the shower
With tears pouring down faster in a furious flow
Hoping that the hot water hid away her pouring pangs
She then turns the knob with a charming smile
And rushes around finishing her works
But every now and then she pauses a bit
To wipe away the tears that barged in unannounced
To gaze back into her screen and type vigorously

There are so many nights she pretends to sleep soundly
She turns away and presses her face deep inside the pillow
To hide those tears that poured down mercilessly
She then turns back with a warm smile
To cuddle her little one closer and drift into sleep
The sleep that gave her nightmares of hands
Hands that crept under her blankets without asking her choice

If you think you know her, think twice
The truth is you never knew her deep inside
You never saw the tears she hid in her grin
You never heard the pain she hid in laughter

You may feel she demands too much from you
But you didn’t realize she never got anything she ever dreamt of
You may feel she pushes you too much
But you didn’t realize she was always hurt by everyone she loved
You may feel she overreacts for every little thing
But you didn’t realize she was ignored right from days she can remember of
So, if you think you know her, think twice
She fights battles and cries tears you never know of
