The Piercing Voices

The voices grew louder and louder
Even as I tried again and again
to hush them to sleep
But! No! The voices mocked at my folly
The voices screamed out loud
Scattering my brain
Crumbling my soul

Then the voices began to whisper to me
Whisper with an eerie spell
The whisper that made me shiver
The whisper that made me quiver
The voices ate me up with a menacing growl
The voices bate me up with a striking howl

And, as I drowned within the voices
I knew the voices were true all along
